Subsea and offshore engineering requires a ‘right-first-time’ approach, balancing the drivers of health and safety, risk, vessel cost, development capex/opex, weather, and environmental constraints, with data acquisition and design. The ability of WSP to provide a one-stop shop, integrating the maritime team with our other disciplines - such as electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers - brings benefits to the client.

Quay walls and sea walls

We tailor our approach to quay wall design to meet our client’s operational objectives, both immediate and for the future. For new infrastructure, our designers will evaluate the operational requirements and site conditions (such as marine climate, soil conditions and environment considerations) to determine the most appropriate solution. Typically, the solutions will range from gravity structures through suspended decks on piles to embedded sheet piled combi-wall or diaphragm wall type constructions.
