Abandoned Industrial Site Reawakening as Hub of Waterfront Activity

WSP USA is helping convert a long dormant brownfield site into a vibrant, resilient community destination along the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow, New York.

When completed, the site will feature an amphitheater for performances, a civic center, athletic fields and courts, trails, a skateboard park, and a new Department of Public Works building.

Plans for the site are designed to address the compounded effect of projected sea level rise to 2070 and extreme event scenarios.

The site was split into two parts, a private residential project on the west parcel known as “Edge on the Hudson,” and passive and active recreation on the east parcel.
