The Canadian Government wants to improve the building’s performance standards, for the sake of its workers and the environment, and make better use of this valuable space in Vancouver’s central business district. As part of its long-term plan to consider the building’s future, the Canadian Government asked WSP to undertake a feasibility study by creating four different options for the site. Stockholm, Sweden Sthlm 01, Stockholm Sthlm 01 is a 27-storey commercial building which will form part of the Stockholm New Creative Business Spaces set in beautiful waterside surroundings to the Swedish capital. The development comprises seven distinctive buildings, of which Sthlm 01 will be the tallest, becoming a landmark in the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Hammarby Sjöstad, an attractive location for offices, close to downtown Stockholm, with good public transport. Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Parramatta Square, Western Sydney A mixed-use precinct transforming Parramatta into Sydney’s second central business district. London, England, UK 22 Bishopsgate, London Accommodating up to 12,000 people, working for many different companies, 22 Bishopsgate, will become the tallest building in the City of London when it is completed. The 62-storey commercial tower will provide a wide range of facilities for occupants while becoming London’s first ‘vertical village’. London, England, UK One Blackfriars, London An iconic, mixed-use development situated on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge overlooking the River Thames. Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, UAE Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi The new Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, in Abu Dhabi’s Al Ain, is home to the city’s football club. With room for 25,000 spectators over three tiers, it is a compact and intimate arena, inspired by the natural landscape of Al Ain and encompassing both traditional and innovative design. As well as the football stadium, the development includes a six-storey commercial building and sports complex with kids’ club. Saint-André-d’Argenteuil, Quebec, Canada Carillon Generating Station Rehabilitation and Retrofit The Carillon generating station, built in 1962, produces some 753 MW of energy. Many of the original pieces of equipment were at the end of their useful life and needed be completely rehabilitated and retrofitted. London, England, UK Strata SE1, London At 43 storeys, Strata SE1 was the tallest building in south London when it was completed. It is home to more than 1,000 people and is the first ever building with wind turbines integrated into the building form itself. Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Montecasino Entertainment World and Teatro, Johannesburg The largest in the southern hemisphere, the Teatro is a core component of the extension to one of Johannesburg’s premier casino and entertainment centres. The theatre is designed for large-scale productions and can accommodate 1,900 people at full capacity. New York, NY, USA 3 Hudson Boulevard, New York 3 Hudson Boulevard is a new mixed-use commercial tower in the Hudson Yards district. The environmentally sustainable tower will include premium corporate offices and exclusive residences, and is designed to maximize sunlight and provide 360 degree views.
