HOW WE MAKE SMART AND SUSTAINABLE CITIES THE PLACES TO BE

In Brisbane this week, the model for smart and sustainable cities is under review at the Engineers Australia Conference.

Some of the best thinkers in the country will take to the stage to discuss how policy, funding and technology play important roles in creating smart cities that people want to live in.

WSP Regional Director for Queensland Gerard Ryan said this was a rare opportunity to see leading professionals from different fields debate the future of our cities.

‘Digital disruption and technology-first drive affects us all – we need to establish how we can use these tools to create positive change in our cities.

‘Ultimately, the goal is to create cities that are liveable and full of human connection – as well as smart,’ said Mr Ryan.
