Preserving and improving the quality of limited land resources is a top concern in both the private and public sector.

Our contaminated land experts constantly challenge the status quo with every project, identifying ground-breaking ways to contain waste and restore land to optimal quality.

Our growing team welcomes Helen Jones, an experienced environmental professional, who has joined WSP as Technical Executive, Contaminated Land Management. In the past 20 years, she has worked extensively with both public and private sector clients across all aspects of land project life cycles. Most recently, Ms Jones held senior technical leadership positions for Defence capacity development projects where she provided strategic advice on PFAS containment management and remediation.

Helen is actively involved with several industry organisations and currently chairs Consult Australia’s QLD Division Environment Committee. Her areas of expertise include contamination (resulting from industrial and waste sites), landfill and waste engineering, management and remediation of emerging contaminants, risk assessment and management as well as environmental legislation and compliance with an emphasis on landfill, their management and related environmental impact.

Jenny MacMahon, WSP’s Director of Environment for ANZ said, “Helen is an inspiring environmental professional with excellent credibility in the marketplace. She will assist us in broadening the footprint of our Contaminated Land services. I am confident that her expertise and leadership will be of tremendous value to our clients in the environment sector.”

Ms Jones started in her role in October and is based in our Brisbane office.
