Dr Susan Huang, Associate Director, Property Structures – NSW, recently received a ‘Special Contribution Award’ on behalf of WSP at the Poly Australia awards night held in Sydney.

Susan was recognised as an outstanding Structural Engineer who has contributed to the success of several Poly Australia projects, including:

  • 210-220 George St – A 27-storey A-Grade commercial building including retail
  • Poly Bankstown – A mixed-use development including over 500 apartments plus retail and dining facilities
  • Poly Lindfield – A high-end residential building comprising 67 large apartments and luscious garden spaces
  • Poly Kogarah – A residential building comprising approximately 100 apartments close to the station

Poly is one of the biggest property developers in Australia, China, US and UK. The company’s philosophy is to bring value and respect to communities by enhancing each and every person’s living experience through clever designs for all stages of life.

Susan says, “Winning an award from Poly is a satisfying and humbling achievement – both for myself and WSP. To gain recognition for my hard work, dedication and attention to detail is a special moment in my career and I’m proud to say that I’m a trusted Advisor to Poly.”

Starting with WSP in late 2015, Susan’s long-term relationship with the Chinese developer was a key reason for WSP securing roles on their major projects. She says, “Part of the reason I have been able to maintain such a strong relationship with Poly is because we are both passionate about designing beautiful, efficient and cost effective buildings. From mixed-use precincts to high-rise towers, Poly’s diversified portfolio means we are always creating vibrant and thriving societies.

“Working with Poly across multiple projects means that I’ve had to develop a wide range of skills. These include consulting, project management and business development through both technical and delivery phases. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.”

Poly Australia also made a special thank you to Graeme Deaker, Director, Property Structures – NSW for his leadership and support throughout 2017.
