Currently WSP’s National Director Sustainability, Dr David Cruickshanks-Boyd, who also holds FIEAust CPEng EngExec and NER post nominals, is a champion of Aboriginal participation in engineering education and employment. His 40 years’ experience includes holding key industry positions as Member of the SA Minerals and Energy Advisory Council and Chair of the South Australia Governor’s Aboriginal Employment Infrastructure Cluster. During his tenure as Engineers Australia National President and Board Chair in 2015, David established a Diversity Committee and Policy management team. He is also a past deputy chair of the SA Environment Protection Authority, and former Director of Scope Global.
Also acknowledged by Engineers Australia Queensland Branch as leaders in their profession is Kate Gilchrist, General Manager - Major Projects awarded Fellow and Engineering Executive (EngExec) and Sindy Williamson, Commercial Director - Transport as EngExec.
With project experience in the Philippines, Ireland and Denmark, Kate leads a team of 70 Project Directors, Project Managers and Project Control experts in the delivery of significant infrastructure projects for WSP clients across Australia covering a portfolio including rail, road, tunnel, structures and systems engineering. Kate is also currently Chair of the WSP Diversity Council across Australia and New Zealand.
Sindy, who became a Fellow in 2011, is an experienced leader with proven management and planning ability demonstrated across a range of diverse disciplines across multiple industries. Sindy has an impressive track record of more than 20 years’ experience comprising change management and team development, project and risk management, communication, negotiation, and financial management.
