New Transport Bridges and Structures Leader for NSW

Congratulations to Kay Nagendra-Meynard, who has been appointed Regional Executive for Transport Bridges and Structures (BAS) in NSW for WSP.

Kay brings a unique mix of experience to the firm, having led high performing multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex transport, power and utilities solutions for clients in both the public and private sector. A Chartered Engineer with more than 20 years of experience, she has worked in the infrastructure industry, delivering projects across the whole asset life cycle from strategy development, conceptual design through to construction.

Kay’s most recent role was Associate Director for HKA Australia where she acted as a Senior Advisor to Transport for NSW (TfNSW), developing the assurance framework for the Transport Access Programme TAP 3. She was also responsible for overseeing production of third-party agreements on the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 and Sydney Metro City & Southwest where she negotiated successful outcomes for the Program. Kay’s experience also extends to the Thameslink project in the United Kingdom, where she was instrumental in setting up governance and advising on the management of statutory utilities.

Tom Cooper, WSP’s National Executive for BAS says that under Kay’s leadership, the team will be well placed to challenge the status quo of structural engineering in Transport. ”Her depth of experience in developing strategy and managing programs on mega transport projects equips her with a unique blend of problem solving and leadership qualities.”

“A people person at heart, Kay has a good arsenal of skills for managing complex stakeholder relationships gained from her time with TfNSW.

“With her focus on building client relationships and building teams, I am confident that Kay will lead our transport structures team in NSW to be able to drive better solutions for our clients and deliver the best approach to managing the works coming to market in the coming years.”

Based in Sydney, Kay started with WSP on 10 August 2020.
