Mr Tan and Mr Follett bring with them a breadth of knowledge on complex underground environments, in particular their international and local experience in maritime structures and mining infrastructure.
Mr Tan, Technical Executive for Geotechnics, has more than 32 years of experience in geotechnical practice for a wide range of projects including mining infrastructure, transport infrastructure, and maritime structures. He will help to strengthen the capability of our WA business as well as broaden our expertise in maritime structures and mining infrastructure especially tailings storage facilities. He is highly regarded as a Subject Matter Expert on Tailings Dams and has held lead roles on several large geotechnical projects including numerous expansions in Port Hedland, Finucane Island, and Nelson Point, and he was the Chief Geotechncial Engineer for the SMART Tunnel in Malaysia.
Mr Follett, Principal Engineering Geologist, joins the team after working for WSP in New Zealand for the last two years. He brings with him more than 22 years of experience in geotechnical projects in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. He brings a fresh perspective on geotechnical design and modelling for infrastructure projects in complex environments, including remote and foreshore locations, as well as in the use of drone technology and photogrammetry. Mr Follett has a wealth of knowledge to share, gained from significant projects including Balla Balla Heavy Rail, West Pilbara Iron Ore Port, and Cloudbreak tailings dam monitoring scheme.
