Vibe Wear it Purple

Thriving communities get to be even better when diversity and inclusion is promoted in all community settings. Great outcomes start with inspired place-makers who can work to their fullest capability in a supportive environment.

To celebrate Wear It Purple (WIP) day, our VIBE committee will be hosting a national panel highlighting some of our identifying staff in the LGBTQ+ community.

The discussion will highlight the importance of organisations like WIP as well as bridging the gap of being out in the workplace and sharing their own personal stories. In addition, VIBE will also have purple face masks available with donations encouraged. All proceeds will be directly given to WIP.

Kate says, “It’s a joy to be part of an inclusive work place and working to create an inclusive society, one where it’s safe to be who you are, as you are and overcome marginalisation. I support Wear It Purple because I know the type of adversity a young LGBTQ+ person can face, it’s time to be the change.”

Founded in 2010, WIP strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ young people. It’s about creating safe spaces in schools, universities, workplaces and public spaces to show LGBTIQ+ young people that they are seen and supported.

Since the creation of VIBE in 2019, WSP staff have collectively raised over $1000 to support of WIP.
