WSP Named Employer of Choice for Gender Equality

Our unwavering commitment to embracing a diverse and inclusive culture has led to a consecutive citation by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) recognising WSP as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) in 2019-2020.

 

WSP is one of 119 Australian organisations to have successfully met the high standards, rigorous assessment process and criteria under which seven focus areas including gender remuneration gaps, flexible working, and other initiatives to support family responsibilities were examined.

 

Guy Templeton, WSP’s President and CEO for Australia & New Zealand, says, “Receiving this citation underscores the progress we have made toward achieving a more balanced workforce. We are excited to see that our initiatives to empower women across the business are being recognised externally.”

 

In achieving this citation two years in a row, WSP is seen as embedding firm-wide flexible work practices, tailoring parental leave policies supporting both women and men, and increasing representation of women in management at a faster rate than other employers in the WGEA dataset. These findings alone demonstrate the tangible impact of the EOCGE citation.

 

Guy adds, “Gender equality is an integral part of our diverse and inclusive culture and it plays a key role in our 2019-2021 Strategic Plan, both globally and locally. In the past year, we have achieved our goal of 30 per cent female representation at the leadership level, delivered pay parity, launched our Visibility in the Built Environment (VIBE) network in support of our LGBT+ community and made a historic pledge to recognise the importance of the Uluru Statement from the Heart in support of our Reconciliation Action Plan.
