Supporting EnergyAustralia's goal of being carbon neutral by 2050, the Tallawarra-B Project will be Australia's first net zero emissions hydrogen and gas capable plant. The 300+ megawatt power station will power homes and businesses across New South Wales (NSW), in a move which sees an ongoing transition to renewable fuels in Australia.
The Owner's Engineer (OE) role will see us provide Future Ready technical support to EnergyAustralia, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, as well as codes and standards. The role also includes providing technical coordination between each of the various work packages.
Supporting the phase-out of coal-fired power generation, the project will complement the existing Tallawarra Power Station allowing EnergyAustralia to provide reliable, affordable and clean energy to their NSW customers.
David Gabriel, WSP's Principal Power Engineer says, “We are excited to be supporting EnergyAustralia in their mission of carbon neutrality by 2050, and the energy transition to renewable fuels. Our highly experienced team are looking forward to working with the project team to deliver a project capable of meeting the energy needs of tomorrow.
“With the integration of hydrogen as a fuel source, the Tallawarra-B Power Station is a critical step in Australia's transition to a lower carbon energy future. In addition, the project is well aligned to WSP's own commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2040.”
