Architect

4 National Circuit in Canberra was created to house key federal government agencies. The site has two buildings with five levels of A-grade commercial office space, ground level retail tenancies and four basement levels of car and bicycle parking. Formerly known as the Robert Garran Offices, 4 National Circuit is bounded by Kings Avenue, Macquarie Street and National Circuit in Barton.

Environmentally Sustainable Design

ISPT/Lendlease sought to showcase the best environmental building practices in the world in this development. The project team took care to minimise the environmental footprint during construction and for the long-term.

We integrated such features as:

  • Energy efficiency initiatives, including DALI lighting control systems
  • Water harvesting
  • Grey/blackwater treatment
  • Double layer, thermally-efficient glazing

A Sustainable Urban Village

4 National Circuit is now a vibrant workplace in the heart of Canberra’s Parliamentary district. Convenient services, a business centre and a local café combine to create a modern urban village for the buildings’ public sector tenants.

4 National Circuit has achieved a 5 Star Green Star Design Rating and a 5 Star Green Star as Built Rating. The complex is now targeting world’s best practice for internal environment quality to complement its 5 Star NABERS Energy and 5 star NABERS Water Ratings.
