The magnificent art deco heritage building at 339 Pitt Street in Sydney has been transformed into the world-class five-star Primus Hotel.

WSP Vision Design, in collaboration with Woods Bagot Sydney provided concept and detailed lighting design services for the new Primus Hotel. The design showcases the building’s landmark heritage values, creating an intimate atmosphere via the considered application of light and materials.

As a heritage building, the lighting is carefully integrated within architectural detailing for minimal impact to heritage elements and to conserve and highlight decorative features. The design re-imagines the original skylight integrated light fittings with opal etched glass and bronze detailing along with art deco inspired decorative light fittings for intimate pools of light. The hotel design balances a blend of tradition and contemporary touch points to deliver an opulent experience to transport guests back in time.
