Sydney’s population is expanding. To support the ongoing growth in movement of passengers and freight, Transport for NSW is developing the Sydney Gateway – A new road project to provide a missing link connecting the Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport with the Sydney motorway network.
Sydney Gateway will link Sydney Airport’s international and domestic terminals to the Sydney Motorway network via the new WestConnex St Peters Interchange, enhancing access to the Airport and Port Botany precinct, reducing traffic and congestion on the local road network, and expanding capacity and efficiency for moving people and freight.
Working in Joint Venture, WSP reviewed concept designs, identifying and resolving technical challenges, prepared reference designs, undertook field studies and environmental assessments and created a combined Environmental Impact Statement (to satisfy NSW planning requirements) and a Major Development Plan (to satisfy Commonwealth planning requirements) for the project.
The reference design, the Environment Impact Statement and Major Development Plan and a response to the Submissions Report is now complete. We are assisting Transport for NSW with ongoing technical/environmental advice and services to de-risk project delivery and provide contracting support.
