Flood control is an important issue in the Netherlands, as climate change leads to rising sea water levels and increasing discharge peaks of the Rhine River.

WSP was appointed by the clients Transport for London (TfL) and Network Rail to develop options and recommend a preferred solution for a London Overground station to link to the proposed High Speed 2/ Crossrail interchange at Old Oak Common.

We’ve been working with Highways England on a trial that will transform how we drive. The vision for the future is ‘naked motorways’ with no gantries and road signs; instead all information will be delivered direct to the driver in their vehicle in real time, with the goal of making roads safer and journeys smoother.

Thanks to WSP’s sustainable designs, primary school students and teachers in Wales were treated to a new and improved learning environment. Two primary schools in Carmarthenshire have been designed and built according to Passivhaus, the world’s most rigorous energy and comfort standard.

As a member of our Environment team, this beautiful, six-year-old Labrador Retriever may look like your average dog, but this former explosive detection dog is now trained to find the sources of chlorinated solvents that are wasted or improperly disposed of in natural and built environments. 

Salesforce Tower is an iconic building on the skyline of San Francisco, and the focal point of the Transbay redevelopment area. The tower is located in the SoMa (South-of-Market) district of San Francisco, above the new transit centre which is set to become a major transportation hub for West Coast USA. At a height of 1,000 ft., it is one of the tallest buildings west of the Mississippi river.

There is no doubt that greenhouse gas emissions have changed local weather patterns. The City of Calgary is proactively addressing climate change risks and potential adaptation actions.
