The University of Cantabria’s engineering school is one of the most prestigious engineering schools in Spain. The campus is located in Santander, along the northern coast of the country.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) develops and implements policies, plans and programs for roads, bridges, aeronautics, freight and passenger carriers, ports, waterways, and railroads for over five million urban and rural residents. WSP USA has worked with MnDOT on a variety of initiatives to maximize operational performance and support the delivery of billions in transportation improvements.

Northwest Parkway, Jefferson Parkway and E-470 public highway authorities represent three alternative delivery entities in the growing Denver metropolitan area, providing convenient access to residential and employment centers, including the Denver International Airport. WSP USA provided the authorities with financial planning, organizational management, traffic and revenue analyses, P3 procurement advisory and contract negotiations support.

WSP USA served as a strategic consultant to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), a private investor, for its $2.35 billion purchase of four container terminals in New York, New Jersey and British Columbia. The transaction was awarded the North American Acquisition Deal of the Year by Project Finance magazine.

New technologies are rapidly enabling innovations in transportation modes and services. In just a few years, these innovations have brought us ride-hail services, autonomous vehicles, bicycle-sharing systems, ride-pooling services and more. The impacts of these services on our transportation system have largely gone unmeasured.

Metrolinx, an agency of the Government of Ontario, Canada, selected WSP USA to outline emerging trends in technology and society and their potential impact on transportation in the Toronto region.

WSP USA has several on-call contracts to provide multidisciplinary connected and automated vehicle support across various business units within the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT). 

As part of the Planet M initiative, the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) partnered to test connected vehicle applications on the I-69 freeway in Lapeer County, Michigan. WSP USA was a part of the MDOT team leading the infrastructure deployments.

WSP USA is advising on technology for the American Center for Mobility, a new connected and automated vehicle test facility in southeast Michigan.

The Village of Middle River has lived under a boil water advisory (BWA) for close to 14 years, following a series of failed water treatment attempts.  The challenges associated with providing safe drinking water to this small community proved too daunting for a conventional project approach. Through a research partnership with RES’EAU WaterNET, an innovative technology of biological ion exchange (BIEX) was born. The first full-scale BIEX water treatment plant was commissioned in August 2018, which consequently lifted the long-term boil water advisory in late 2018.
