Alana Gauthier, Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure, has been awarded the prestigious 2018 Judith Weiszmann Women in Engineering Champion Award, sponsored by Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.

As a role model for young women entering the engineering field, Alana is the co-founder of Technical Women in Consulting Engineering (TWICE), the first organization in Canada looking at the retention of women in consulting engineering.

October 19, 2018, Winnipeg, MB

A graduate of Queen’s University’s Chemical Engineering program, Alana started her career as a project metallurgist and discovered the challenge of being a female in the male-dominated mining field. In 2011, she was identified as being instrumental to being key to the success of the project. Alana has been with WSP since 2007, working on industrial, northern and First Nations infrastructure projects.  Some of her accomplishments include:

  • Creating her own role within WSP
  • Successful delivery of high profile infrastructure projects
  • Client development, and execution of mining, pharmaceutical, agrifoods, and manufacturing projects.
