Coronavirus (COVID-19) – WSP in Canada Response Update

WSP in Canada’s Business Continuity Team (BCT) continues to respond to the COVID-19 situation with our Business Continuity Plan and our teams have quickly shifted and embraced the digital approach to engaging, collaborating and serving our clients, while we ensure our people are able to practice social distancing to “flatten the curve”.

Our BCT and Canadian Executive Leadership Team meet daily to respond to these unprecedented times. We are committed to being operationally resilient to continue meeting the needs of our clients.

Many of WSP’s strengths lie in the diversity, resilience and agility of our people. In the last week, we have responded quickly to new developments while prioritizing the safety and welfare of our employees, clients, communities and supply chain in our actions.

Operations Update

As of today, most of our employees have transitioned to work remotely from home, and we continue to work with our site and field teams to ensure staff in the field are prepared to assess the risks and make informed decisions about how to keep safe.

Our offices, which remain open for now, are also part of our social distancing strategy. We are maintaining core business hours with a rotational team of senior leaders and other essential support staff. We continue to monitor the situation including guidance provided by the federal and provincial/territorial governments, and we will adjust our COVID-19 response plan accordingly.

WSP’s Future-ReadyTM Response

Digital Collaboration:  Through our host of digital platforms, we look forward to continuing our conversations and discussions through video and teleconference options as our preference.

Document Management:  Documents and large-format plans are all available in digital format, and we can share these with you through secured means to continue our collaborative work together.

Field Work:  WSP staff currently conducting their work on project sites, have been given guidance to ensure our rigorous safety protocols are top of mind, with additional considerations for social distancing incorporated.

Office Sites: We remain open for business and invite you to engage your client representative digitally where ever possible.  For critical office-based roles, we have enhanced our safety and sanitation protocols in our major offices to create the safest environment we can for our staff at this time. We are asking clients to seek alternatives to face-to-face meetings whenever possible to promote social distancing.
