After nearly two years working as Project Lead for the design, maintenance and operation of our HR Employee portal, I felt there was more to be explored and was ready for a new challenge and additional responsibility. I saw a posting on our website for a Project Coordinator role with the Rail and Transit team and was immediately intrigued as I had been supporting the Rail and Transit team for several months and was impressed by the efficiency, talent and collaboration of the group. I reached out to a few team members to gauge whether it was realistic for me to make the leap from People and Culture to the Operations side of things and then I decided to formally apply. My former manager and mentor, Andrew Sebastian, Global & Canadian Leader, ERP HR Implementation, encouraged me to pursue the Project Coordinator role and helped me to feel confident and prepared to take the plunge, ultimately shifting my career trajectory. Fortunately, the team saw potential in me, and I have been working as a Project Coordinator in the Project Controls team since August 2020. I am still so grateful that they decided to take a chance on me.
