President and Chief Executive Officer, Canada
Hugo Blasutta was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of WSP in Canada in June 2016. Having more than 35 years’ experience in the consulting engineering industry, both in Canada and internationally, he has extensive experience at the executive level, including in strategic planning, corporate and business development and operations. Mr. Blasutta is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the private company Coriport S.A. He has also been a member of a number of other Boards of Directors of public and private companies. He earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A. Sc. in Civil Engineering) and a Masters of Engineering (M.Eng. in Civil Engineering), both from the University of Toronto.
Chief Operating Officer, Canada
Gregory M. Northcott
Providing operational leadership and direction for all business lines nationally, Mr. Northcott was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in January 2017. Previously Vice President of Operations for the Canadian Transportation business, he brings to the new role more than 15 years of experience in the engineering and construction industries, which includes operational leadership on large Design-Build-Finance-Operate /Public-Private-Partnership and Design-Build infrastructure projects.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Canada
Victoria Trim brings 20 years of high-level, progressive leadership experience in finance and operations management to her role as Chief Financial Officer. Most recently, Victoria held the position of Vice President, Finance Transformation, for ABB Inc., where she has had the benefit of exposure to leading financial best practices. Previously, she held senior level finance roles such as Global Business Unit Controller, Country CFO and Corporate Treasurer, as well as Advisor to the CEO.
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Canada
André Desautels brings with him over 18 years of experience in managing complex international negotiations, operations, mergers and acquisitions, organizational transformations and compliance. He has a track record for working hand-in-hand with the business to offer sound legal advice and innovative thinking supporting organizational growth. Prior to joining the company, he served as Global Vice President of Contracts & Compliance Officer for AGT International, a growing global security organization based in Zurich, Switzerland. Previously, he held various General Counsel and Legal Affairs positions in Toronto, New York and Montréal.
Chief Corporate Development Officer, Canada
As Chief Corporate Development Officer, Mr. Gill is leading Canada’s strategic direction and the development the processes and tools to work towards them successfully. In addition to this in-depth knowledge of our culture, client base, business processes and objectives, Matt brings more than 30 years of successful achievements in the technology and professional services sectors.
Chief Human Resources and Safety Officer, Canada
Ian Macleod possesses more than 26 years of experience in human resources, 20 of which have been in architecture, consulting, engineering, operations and maintenance environments. He has worked with large, global, highly acquisitive and publicly traded companies. A significant majority of his career involved integrating organizations into one operating model: aligning human resources delivery models and programs to meet new organizational structures and demands required by today’s businesses. Mr. Macleod holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Mount Alison University and an MBA in Marketing from Saint Mary’s University.
Chief Information Officer (CIO), Canada
Eduardo Bresani brings to this role more than 25 years of IT management experience including executive consulting positions in a variety of industries. Mr. Bresani holds an MBA and a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science. He is certified in Governance of Enterprise IT, Information Systems Audit, and Project Management.
Senior Vice President, Buildings
Terry Tommason is an executive level major program/project and development executive with 24+ years industry experience on some of the world’s largest and most complex projects. Prior to joining WSP, Mr. Tommason held several leading roles, including Managing director / Operations director for two leading multi-disciplinary consultancy firms: Arcadis and Atkins. In addition to managing the business and associated operations, he was directly engaged and accountable for pursuing, converting and delivering major projects.
Senior Vice President, Environment
An Environmental Engineer with 23 years of consultancy experience, André-Martin comes from a technical background in contaminated land management. He has led numerous projects involving Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), characterization and site remediation (water, soil, fauna and flora), and project development, protection and rehabilitation of sensitive habitats. He has also directed several large-scale works in the construction of parks and residential developments and projects in the transport sector, linear infrastructure, industrial, mining and recreational resorts.
Senior Vice President, Infrastructure
With more than 26 years of professional experience managing a wide variety of linear infrastructure and land development projects, Joe Sframeli operates as WSP’s Senior Vice President of Infrastructure. Mr. Sframeli has extensive experience in all aspects of complex infrastructure work related to site grading, utility infrastructure, stormwater management and site servicing for both private developers and public agencies. His diverse portfolio of projects span the range of largescale trunk feedermains to the design of complex integrated site servicing solutions for international luxury hospitality redevelopment projects.
Senior Vice President, Energy, Resources & Industry
James Chopty joined the Canadian team in July 2017 with over 22 years of global experience. Most recently, Mr. Chopty was working for WSP’s African operations to grow the company’s international presence in that continent’s emerging markets and previously worked in Sub-Sahara Africa in managing the operations for one of the industry’s leading oilfield service companies. He is a B.S. Civil Engineering graduate of the University of Saskatchewan.
Senior Vice President, Transportation
Throughout his 16-year career at WSP, Eric Peissel has managed teams in Quebec, Ontario and Western Canada and since January 2018 is providing national leadership for the Transportation business line. Mr. Peissel holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from McGill University along with a B.A. in Urban Studies from Concordia University.
Senior Vice President, Geomatics
David H. Armstrong joined WSP Canada in the role of National Business Line Executive, Senior Vice President, Geomatics in April 2017. Most recently, Mr. Armstrong held the position of Vice President, Professional Services with Agile Assets in Austin, Texas with an emphasis on Geospatial technology. David holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Engineering (Geodesy and Geomatics) from the University of New Brunswick and brings over twenty five years of experience in senior management roles.
