Providing project design management and interface coordination services, WSP, together with the Consortium, will manage the overall design of the new Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF).

Led by a multidisciplinary team, we will provide design management, system integration management and interface coordination, performance requirement management and assistance in certification management. This will also include support for the preparation of the program for design and approval of design from the authorities for Procurement, FAT, construction, testing and commissioning, TOP/CSC and handover.

In the same vein, WSP has also been awarded a contract with one of the JV partners, China Harbour (Singapore) Engineering. We will also provide design consultancy services in the areas of architecture, civil & structural, MEP building services to the Consortium, as well as permitting services for the project.

The IWMF is expected to be completed in 2024. 

About the new Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) 

The new Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF), an integral part of Singapore’s long-term plan to meet its solid waste management needs, will be equipped with state-of-the-art solid waste treatment technologies to improve energy and resource recovery from waste. Upon completion, it will be the country’s first integrated facility to treat incinerable waste, source-segregated food waste and dewatered sludge from PUB’s Tuas Water Reclamation Plant (Tuas WRP) at a single facility. 

Co-located with PUB’s Tuas WRP to collectively form the Tuas Nexus, the integration of solid waste and used water treatment processes at Tuas Nexus allows both agencies to harness various synergies to further improve overall plant performance and optimise land use.
