WSP welcomes two senior hires to the UK business with Strategic Growth and International Development Director in Energy, Fiachra Ó Cléirigh and Nelson Morgado who will be taking up the role as Head of Fire.

Fiachra Ó Cléirigh’s role will be to manage strategic partnerships and key client relationships across the UK and global business units to bring the best of WSP to clients in the Energy space. This will include engaging with the 48,000-strong global business to grow opportunities for international working.

Joining WSP in the UK’s Executive Leadership Team, Fiachra brings over 15 years of global expertise in consultancy, including on major energy projects such as large-scale distribution, transmission and renewable projects across the Middle East.

WSP welcomes Nelson Morgado to its UK business as Head of Fire, bringing with him 37 years of fire engineering experience. Currently managing a team size of 20 across London, Bristol and Birmingham, Nelson will lead the fire discipline service offering as part of WSP’s multidisciplinary approach to buildings, working closely with design specialisms including structures, facades, MEP and acoustics.

Following the launch of his South African business Morgado and Associates, Nelson now joins WSP having spent the past 17 years in the UK working for engineering group, Ramboll. His expertise spans from fire safety and systems in leisure, high-rise residential and industrial projects, most notably including Ferrari World in the Middle East.
