Hotel Lisboa and Casino

The Lisboa is a 58-story, 855-foot (261-meter) ultra-luxury hotel and casino complex.

Opened in 2008, it includes 430 five-star deluxe guest rooms; an expansive eight-level casino; the exclusive Robuchon a Galera restaurant; and a four-level basement for back-office operations and a parking garage. The Lisboa, considered to be the tallest building in Macao, also encompasses a massive gross floor area of nearly 1.5 million square feet (137,000 square meters).

For the Lisboa, WSP responsible for building services design, project control, construction administration and site supervision. The firm incorporated features of variable speed drive water-cooled chillers to enhance the overall energy efficiency of the central chiller plant during light load conditions; heat recovery chillers for domestic hot water pre-heating for podium floors; water-to-water heat pumps for space heating and domestic hot water pre-heating for hotel floors; and adopted an on-demand ventilation control for casino and parking areas featuring carbon dioxide monitoring. The Lisboa has been designed to achieve a high degree of energy efficiency while also providing an environmental-friendly, highly flexible system to satisfy user requirements, while offering superior long-term system operating characteristics.
