A prominent figure in the Asia engineering community, WSP’s Asia Chief Executive Officer, Ivy Kong brings to this appointment extensive insights from her 20-year career in the professional engineering industry. 

As a Chartered Engineer in Civil & Structural Engineering, Ivy not only established a strong track record of successful project delivery across Asia, but also demonstrated solid business acumen encompassing client relationship management, business development, operations and employee development.

In addition to leading the 3,300 employee WSP Asia business, Ivy also actively supports and encourages women’s career development in all industries. Spearheading the Company’s gender-balance programme in Asia, she works tirelessly to promote inclusion, diversity, empowerment and excellence by sharing her experience and providing guidance. 

Speaking about the appointment, Ivy said, “It is an honour to meet other like-minded professionals at the WIE to embrace their initiatives to support women in engineering.  I am excited by the opportunity to share with the group my aspirations and pursuit of a professional career in engineering and how to flourish whilst balancing both career and family roles.” 

About Task Force on Women in Engineering (‘TF-WIE’)

As one of the initiatives of the Session 2017/2018 to promote female participation in engineering, the Task Force on Women in Engineering was set up in September 2017 by the Executive. The Task Force which is chaired by Ir Jovian Cheung, will contribute ideas and strategies for organising activities to promote membership among women engineers and provide support to its female members.
