On behalf of the team, Stephen Green, Head of Power at WSP in Asia, received a memento of appreciation from YBhg Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi, Chairman of Sarawak Energy Berhad, at an appreciation dinner to commemorate the completion of a 600mw Balingian Power Plant located in Sarawak, East Malaysia. 

WSP was the appointed Technical Advisor for the project's development phase and the Owner's Engineer during the five-year construction stage. 

Balingian is the first coal-fired power plant in Malaysia to utilise emissions lowering circulating fluidised bed (CFB) technology and incorporates the largest natural draft cooling towers in the country to provide the plants cooling water.
