He will lead WSP’s team of water specialists based across New Zealand, as they work with clients to facilitate management of the entire water lifecycle from source to tap and return to the environment.
Ian Blair, WSP Managing Director, says New Zealand’s water is coming under increasing pressure due to rapid urbanisation, food production challenges, aging infrastructure and climate change.
“I’m thrilled that Carl is bringing his considerable expertise in strategy and human-centered design to lead our specialists. Together they will work alongside clients to deliver infrastructure that is ready for the changes and challenges that our world faces now and into the future,” he says.
Carl says he’s passionate about delivering quality outcomes for clients and building strong, resilient teams to achieve this.
“My personal driver is to lead teams that are alive and responsive to change, and agile in their responses to the New Zealand market. Market conditions can change quickly and external factors, like a natural disaster or legislative reform, can have significant impact.”
Carl joins from Aurecon, where he most recently held the position of Regional Director, NZ, and has more than 20 years industry experience in infrastructure delivery. He fills the position created by the retirement of Peter Mathewson.
