Ras Laffan C is an independently owned water and power plant (IWPP) with a combined-cycle capacity of 2,730 MW of electricity and 63 million imperial gallons of desalinated water per day (MIGD) (286.4 million litres per day). This major project – among the Middle East’s largest – can supply approximately 30 percent of Qatar’s electricity and 20 percent of its potable water demand per day.
WSP was owner’s engineer for a range of services including design review, schedule review, factory acceptance tests, site construction and commissioning services, as well as performance and reliability testing.
