Hin Leong Universal Terminal (S) in Singapore

The Universal Terminal on Singapore's Jurong Island is one of the world’s largest petroleum products storage terminals

The Terminal consists of 73 custom-built tanks with the storage capacity of more than 3 million cubic yards (2.3 million cubic meters). The oil terminal has integrated 12 berths including two very large crude carriers (VLCC) berths. The Terminal is able to store 2.9 million cubic yards (2.28 million cubic meters), of both crude oil and oil products such as fuel oil and gas oil, thus being part of the series of projects set to raise commercial storage in the Asian oil trading hub.

We assisted a contractor for the universal terminal tender which involved a 300,000 dead weight tonnage (DWT) very large crude carrier (VLCC) jetty and 0.6-mile (1-kilometer) length of shore-side berths. Subsequently, we were commissioned to provide detailed design services for the shore-side berths comprising of heavily modified sheetpiles and tie-backs.
