The West Rail is a major urban railway project linking Tuen Mun and Yuen Long new towns to the new Yen Chow Street station in the Kowloon urban area. Construction of West Rail involved building nine stations and a 32.5 hectare maintenance centre, and laying 88km of track along a route line comprising a 13.4km viaduct, 14.7km of tunnels and 2.4km of surface alignment.
We provided services for the following projects:
DB320 Kwai Tsing tunnels
We were part of the design team as sub-consultant working in conjunction with the architect. The project involved extensive co-ordination with system-wide service contractors and adjoining package designers to ensure services are compatible and continuity is maintained within the tunnel profile.
The project involved building services for the tunnels between Tsuen Wan West Station and Mei Foo Station and extensive co-ordination with system-wide service contractors and adjoining package designers to ensure services to be compatible throughout West Rail and continuity to be maintained within the tunnels profile. The project also involved the building services and system-wide services containment for the Kwai Chung Ventilation Building and liaison with the China Light and Power Utility Company for providing the necessary power feeds and building services to the Power Transmission Sub Station for the railway tracks within the tunnels.
DD300 Tsuen Wan section
We provided detailed E&M design for the reclamation section Tsuen Wan section which included extensive re-provisioning of existing facilities, pumping stations, ancillary buildings, and more.
CC402 Nam Cheong station
We provided E&M consultancy services for the contractor appointed to construct this large station along the West Rail project. The Nam Cheong Station is a new interchange station between the Mass Transit Railway and the West Rail with the existing Airport Express line and the Kowloon Express highway running through it.
We were responsible for the production of over 1700 installation drawings and all the Contractors E&M design data submission.
CC602 Kam Sheung Roadstation
Kam Sheung Road Station is located to the southwest of Kam Sheung Road near Pat Heung and Kam Tin. An elevated structure with the concourse at ground level and the platform at viaduct level, the station will offer parking facilities and a Public Transport Interchange.
We were responsible for all the Contractors E&M design data submission and the production of 800 installation drawings for this above ground station of the West Rail.
