The first phase of the project was completed in December 2014 when we provided the MEP fit-out design (mechanical, AC, heating, electrical, low voltage, BMS, sanitary) for two floors. We were responsible for installation design and supervision.
The Client's 7,000 m² of office space comprises over 500 workstations and is complemented by meeting rooms, creativity space, relaxation space and kitchen. It features many high-tech solutions, including a conference room with advanced audio-visual equipment. In addition there is the laboratory for testing new products, comprising a data centre with server rooms. There are also regular technical rooms supporting normal office operations.
The challenge and solutions
The team was required to meet the strict design requirements described in the Client’s standards for technical solutions. The main challenge was to adapt the core & shell building to the extended tenant needs for electrical power and HVAC system requirements, especially for the laboratory, which requires 700 kW of electrical power. To resolve that issue, we designed an additional power station, additional HVAC equipment and diesel generators as a back-up for power generation.
