Designed by Rafael Viñoly, the building is a perfect square, with sides of 28.5m, and this regularity is echoed by the 3m x 3m windows punched into the frame, six on each side of the building. New York, NY, USA 56 Leonard, New York 56 Leonard is one of the most distinctive landmarks on the Lower Manhattan skyline. The building is a staggered series of irregular boxes, with cantilevers ranging from 10ft to 25ft, designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron – the practice behind the ‘Bird’s Nest’ Olympic stadium in Beijing. When complete, it will provide 145 luxury apartments in the TriBeCa district, conceived by the architect as “houses stacked in the sky”. The environmentally sustainable tower will include premium corporate offices and exclusive residences, and is designed to maximize sunlight and provide 360 degree views. New York, NY, USA 8 Spruce Street, New York With its striking rippled facade resembling draped fabric, 8 Spruce Street is an iconic landmark on the New York skyline. The 265 m tower provides 903 high-end apartments offering panoramic views across the city. It sits above a six-storey podium including a public school and a clinic for the New York Downtown Hospital. Stockholm, Sweden Sthlm 01, Stockholm Sthlm 01 is a 27-storey commercial building which will form part of the Stockholm New Creative Business Spaces set in beautiful waterside surroundings to the Swedish capital. The development comprises seven distinctive buildings, of which Sthlm 01 will be the tallest, becoming a landmark in the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Hammarby Sjöstad, an attractive location for offices, close to downtown Stockholm, with good public transport. London, England, UK One Blackfriars, London An iconic, mixed-use development situated on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge overlooking the River Thames. Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, UAE Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi The new Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, in Abu Dhabi’s Al Ain, is home to the city’s football club. With room for 25,000 spectators over three tiers, it is a compact and intimate arena, inspired by the natural landscape of Al Ain and encompassing both traditional and innovative design. As well as the football stadium, the development includes a six-storey commercial building and sports complex with kids’ club. London, England, UK Strata SE1, London At 43 storeys, Strata SE1 was the tallest building in south London when it was completed. It is home to more than 1,000 people and is the first ever building with wind turbines integrated into the building form itself.
