The Structural CAD Engineer is responsible for providing drafting services within the projects undertaken by WSP. Also, he/she must perform tasks related with documents control relevant to the project the person in involved. The Structural Cad Engineer will accept more responsibility for technical drawing delivery and CAD team leadership.
The Structural CAD Engineer reports to the Buildings Unit Leader and performs his/her activities as part of a design team aiming to deliver specific projects in due time and of appropriate quality.
Core responsibility will be to work in a team of other structural engineers and technicians, with minimal supervision and prepare drawings of a very high technical quality.
Main Activities:
• Produce CAD drawings based on the sketches and drafts provided by the relevant disciplined engineer;
• Coordinate with WSP engineers and all other relevant disciplines in order to deliver accurate and high quality drawings, schedules, reports etc.;
• Print, plot and prepare the drawing packages as requested by the relevant disciplined engineer;
• Document control activities.
The main task will be to design mechanical installations in commercial and industrial buildings for WSP according to European, Romanian and Swedish regulations as well as to WSP’s internal standards, to include:
Drafting 2D and 3D drawings ventilation, heating, plumbing, sewage, hose reels, sprinklers, medical
gases etc. using MagiCAD on AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP or MagiCAD on Revit;
Drafting As-Built packages;
Heating, cooling and ventilation loads calculations;
Prepare services drawings for HVAC/Public Health infrastructure to include: thermal agent and ventilation distribution routes, terminals location, plant equipment, etc. in 2D or 3D as required;
Distribution infrastructure sizing;
Size and choose HVAC equipment and materials using various software packages;
Prepare HVAC/ Public Health functional schematics (PIDs);
Prepare bills of quantities;
Coordinate with the Electrical design engineers and all other relevant disciplines;
Drafting Reports and other written documents in English, as required;Coordinate with CAD Technicians concerning project requirements and timelines.
The employee must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Master of Science or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering [Instalatii pentru Constructii], specialized in HVAC and/or Public Health & Fire Fighting systems;
High proficiency of English reading, writing and speaking to a professional/technical level.
The main task will be to design electrical installations in commercial and industrial buildings for WSP according to European, Romanian and Swedish regulations as well as to WSP’s internal standards, to include:
Drafting 3D drawings for cable trays, power, lighting, extra low voltage (fire alarm, security, etc.);
Power loads calculations;
Lighting calculations in Dialux;
Cable sizing and cable type selection;
One-line diagrams for distribution boards and switchgears;
Circuit diagrams and additional lists for electrical panels;
Drafting Reports and other written documents in English and/or Romanian, as required.
Further responsibilities include:
Carry out discipline designs to required standards and quality;
Coordinate with CAD Technicians concerning project requirements and timelines;
Ensure that all designs are reviewed to the required standards;
Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline;
Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required;
Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline;
Lightning protection assessment;
Write the specification for the projects and establish the schedules for all equipment;
Prepare bill of quantities;
Prepare due diligence reports;
Coordinate with the Mechanical design engineers and all other relevant disciplines.
The employee must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering/Building services or similar;
Minimum 1-3 years’ experience of designing electrical systems in a variety of building types;
