This project required close co-operation to meet a critical schedule. Thus, WSP favored a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, relying on the size and talent of our team as well as the range of services that we provide –a one-stop solution to Hydro-Québec’s various needs.
Within this context, the complete range of required services were provided to the client without third party support. From underwater inspections, rope access assessments, or niche technical consulting services targeting turbine-generator units and hydromechanical component – services were provided directly by members of the WSP Team which ensured rapid response, alignment and tight quality controls.
The team’s multidisciplinary disciplines were showcased thanks to the various mandates conducted by WSP as part of the Carillon generating station rehabilitation and retrofit project. The services provided include:
- Studies as well as production of plans and engineering specifications;
- The contribution of technical teams specialized in niche disciplines specific to the hydroelectric field, such as turbine-generator units, hydromechanics (gate, hoist, screen, stoplogs, etc.), hydraulics, electricity, structural and civil engineering);
- The contribution of teams as part of high added-value associated work to the rehabilitation and retrofit works, such as the underwater inspection, rope access assessment, and health and safety teams;
- Effective coordination of all the stakeholders.
