In his new position, Mr. Ashley will manage delivery of IT design services for clients nationwide. The firm’s Building Technology Systems group provides integrated technology design for smart buildings, including telecommunications systems; audiovisual and acoustical systems; electronic safety and security systems; emergency communications, including DAS; and network systems (WAN/LAN/WiFi/VOIP). Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, he worked at Alfatech in the Bay Area and Arup globally. He has nearly 25 years of experience in the design and implementation of a wide range of IT systems, including research of emerging trends and introduction of new concepts to clients.
“Gareth is an expert at the design and integration of technology systems in the commercial, transportation, aviation and cultural sectors,” noted Sarah Kuchera, managing director of the firm’s San Francisco buildings office. “He is particularly skilled at integrating teams and technologies to deliver truly innovative results, and he has extensive experience managing staff and multidisciplinary teams on projects around the world.”
The firm also announced today that senior associate Blake Forbes, who previously managed the Building Technology Systems practice in San Francisco, has relocated to the firm’s Los Angeles office to expand the practice to Southern California.
Mr. Ashley earned a postgraduate diploma in business administration from the University of Kingston, United Kingdom, and a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Essex, U.K. His professional affiliations include the US Green Building Council, Chartered Management Institute, Project Management Institute, and BICSI.
