Ruben Landa has been named senior communications manager in the Dallas office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization.


In his new position, Mr. Landa is responsible for directing public involvement and strategic communications on transportation projects in the firm’s Texas/ Mountain region.

Mr. Landa has more than 17 years of experience in public involvement, public affairs and communications. His background includes developing and managing public involvement and diversity programs on major transportation projects on behalf of such agencies as the Texas Department of Transportation, Houston METRO, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, and Valley Metro Rail in Phoenix. His responsibilities included comprehensive public involvement programs for major investment studies, alternative analyses, and draft and final environmental impact statements.

Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, Mr. Landa was vice president of K Strategies Group, a Texas-based public affairs firm serving the transportation and construction industries. He provided public involvement and construction mitigation services on multiple projects. He also served the late State Sen. Mario Gallegos as a legislative aide specializing in transportation public policy.

Mr. Landa earned bachelor’s and master‘s degrees in political science from Sam Houston State University. He currently serves on the national board of directors of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials and the American Contract Compliance Association. He is vice chairman of the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association and treasurer of the MBE Institute for Public Policy. He was named a Top Minority Business Leader by the Dallas Business Journal in 2014.
