Julie D’Orazio has been named national market leader for transit and rail at WSP USA.

 

nwswspDOrazioJulieNEW YORK, NY –Julie D’Orazio has been named national market leader for transit and rail at WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.

In her new role, Ms. D’Orazio, a senior vice president based in the New York office, will provide leadership and direction for the firm’s transit and rail business. She will be responsible for increasing the firm’s transit and rail revenue, enhancing marketing capabilities and strengthening relationships with clients. She will also provide strategic and tactical advice to WSP clients on a wide range of transit and rail issues including, project delivery, management and operations.

Ms. D’Orazio has three decades of management and analytical design experience on highway, railroad and transit projects. She has provided technical oversight and managed project staff, with full responsibility for quality, safety, financial performance, and schedule. She is experienced in formulating and managing quality assurance/quality control projects.

Ms. D’Orazio comes to WSP USA from an international engineering firm where she served as a senior vice president, deputy transportation leader and transit rail market segment leader for the New York metropolitan area. In that role, she was responsible for providing leadership and strategic guidance for the firm’s transit and rail market. She was instrumental in the management of large capital projects, including the Second Avenue Subway, Moynihan Station, the Gateway Program, and several projects for the Long Island Rail Road.

Ms. D’Orazio worked for another large international engineering firm as New York rail group manager, where she was responsible for the management, project delivery and growth of the firm’s New York-based rail business. Early in her career she was a project and structural engineer for a respected mid-sized engineering firm.

Ms. D’Orazio has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is a registered professional engineer in New York and is certified by the American Society of Quality. She currently serves on the board of directors of WTS New York and is a member of the high-speed rail committee of the American Public Transportation Association. She has been active in other professional associations including the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York and the American Society of Civil Engineers Metropolitan Section.
