PHILADELPHIA, PA — Tom Friel has been named vice president and regional civil manager in the Philadelphia office of WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.
In his new position, Mr. Friel will be responsible for managing and expanding the firm’s highway practice across Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.
Mr. Friel has over 30 years of civil engineering experience in the private and public sector including managing highway design and traffic engineering projects for clients such as the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, as well as land development projects for clients such as Liberty Property Trust. His areas of expertise include staff and project management, client/agency/public coordination, highway design, right-of-way, erosion and sedimentation, environmental mitigation, highway lighting, signing, traffic control, signalization, utility relocation and land development.
Mr. Friel has a B.S. in civil engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, a M.S. in civil engineering from Villanova University and is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is active in the Delaware Valley section of the American Society of Highway Engineers and American Corporate Partners
