news-mark-polstonWASHINGTON, D.C. – Mark Polston joins WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, as senior manager for its alternative delivery support service. He will assist clients in the procurement, financing and implementation of complex infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on alternative delivery methods, including public-private partnerships (P3).

Polston is the former deputy director of the United States Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Build America Bureau Credit Programs. In his role with USDOT, Polston was involved with every P3 project that has achieved financial close in the United States since 2010 using federal transportation credit program support. His leadership and counsel on many of these projects strongly contributed to their achieving financial close and proceeding into implementation.

In addition, Polston led a team of expert underwriters in making $18 billion in loans directly facilitating more than $60 billion in infrastructure development since 2013. He served on the strategic leadership team (including technical management of consultancy contracts) and played a principal role in merging USDOT’s credit programs into a single, customer service focused center for transportation infrastructure financing.

Polston received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and earned a bachelor of arts in political science from the College of Charleston.

WSP provides planning, procurement advisory and contract administration, and private investor advisory services to advance infrastructure development. With its broad knowledge of the P3 market and the operation and management of infrastructure assets, WSP also provides advisory services to buyers or sellers seeking to maximize value with acceptable risk.
