NEW YORK – WSP USA strengthened its industry-leading connected and automated vehicle (C/AV) team with the appointment of Frank Perry as a policy and technical leader.
“Our success is driven by our people and we are committed to augmenting our team which is already at the forefront of the development and testing of transportation infrastructure for connected and automated vehicles,” said John D. Porcari, president of advisory services at WSP USA. “Our talented team of C/AV experts combines decades of transportation infrastructure and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) experience together with the latest technical expertise to advise clients as they consider strategy for future mobility policy and implementation.”
Perry joins WSP’s cadre of trusted advisors, including Scott Shogan, C/AV market leader; Steve Kuciemba, national ITS practice leader; Steve Buckley, Northeast regional manager, planning, environment and traffic practice; and Rachel Zack, innovative mobility lead.
Perry, senior connected and automated vehicle program manager, will manage C/AV system design, deployments and system integration and testing for government agencies and is based in Detroit. He has extensive systems engineering and project management experience in wireless network design, deployment, optimization and operation; connected vehicle and light duty vehicle systems experience; and has been a driving force behind the development of standards enabling vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadside communications.
WSP currently advises transportation agencies across the U.S. on the development and implementation of infrastructure and policies to proactively plan for these vehicles of the future. The firm is involved in planning, engineering and deployment of connected vehicle systems; advising public agencies on the impact of C/AV on their transportation systems (and how to plan for them); evaluation of scenarios for early deployment; and system requirements for field integration. In addition, WSP is helping clients explore what it means to be a Smart City, and how technology can support their objectives and improve quality of life for citizens.
