Mark Courville joins WSP as senior vice president and managing director of the Houston property & buildings practice.


 nws-Courville-MarkHouston, TX – Mark Courville joins WSP, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, as senior vice president and managing director of the Houston property & buildings practice.

In his new position, Mr. Courville will lead the business, which provides mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, commissioning and related specialty services to clients in the science and technology, education, commercial and residential sectors, among others.

“Mark brings a diverse background and a great deal of management expertise to our Houston office,” said Rick Rome, executive vice president and managing director of U.S. property and buildings systems for WSP. “Our employees and clients in the Houston area will greatly benefit from his leadership.”

WSP’s recent work in Houston includes the new Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory at Texas A&M University, the north campus expansion of Houston Methodist Hospital, and the Bay Area Regional Medical Center.

Previously, Mr. Courville was a principal at Stantec. He has also held management and leadership positions with Bury, Inc., HOK and Chevron. His project experience extends across commercial, retail and industrial spaces. In a previous role with Chevron, he managed a project team that was charged with project delivery for all Chevron Real Estate assets in the Eastern United States and Latin America. He also has experience managing asset strategy and planning, commissioning and building technology teams.

Mr. Courville has a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He holds a professional engineering license in Texas and Louisiana. He is an active member of the Heights Association, a 501(c)3 community organization for the Houston Heights neighborhood, where he lives.
