Veteran bridge engineer brings 22 years of experience to new role as complex bridge technical lead in Denver.

Brendan GillDENVER — Brendan Gill has been named complex bridge technical lead at WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.

In his new role with the firm, Gill will be responsible for the success and continued growth of the complex bridge practice and collaborating with resources throughout the firm with a specific focus on pursuits and delivery of complex structures projects.

“Brendan’s experience with complex bridge projects across the U.S. will be an invaluable resource to our bridge building teams and to our clients in this region,” said Barton Newton, national director of complex bridges at WSP. “His technical expertise will be a tremendous asset on the firm’s bridge and structure projects, especially on long span and concrete segmental bridges, as well as for bridge asset management.”

Gill has worked with many diverse bridge forms and construction methods throughout his 22-year career, including short span concrete girders, intermediate span steel and post tensioned concrete girders, long span arch, cable stayed and suspension bridges throughout the United States and Canada. He is also experienced in seismic design and high-speed rail bridge design.

Prior to joining WSP, Gill served in technical leadership roles at several top tier engineering firms. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Lafayette College and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University.
