COLORADO SPRINGS — Rudy Bauer has joined WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, as a senior level master planner for the firm’s U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) projects.
In his new role, Bauer will function as part of an integrated team for planning significant planning and asset management projects for the DOD and other Federal agencies. He will also plan, prepare and develop necessary supporting documents in compliance with applicable government policies.
Bauer brings over 40 years of planning experience to the WSP multi-disciplinary team. During his career, he has consulted for all the armed services as well as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the U.S. Department of Energy. He has facilitated hundreds of unified facilities criteria (UFC) compliance charrettes across four continents.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Rudy’s expertise join the WSP team,” said Kenneth Kost, WSP senior vice president, buildings and facilities. “Our firm is working on several important projects for the DOD, and Rudy’s background and extensive knowledge will benefit our federal and military clients.”
Bauer’s planning and project management experience includes preparing various planning and programming documents in the private and military sectors. Most recently, he facilitated the transition of the six international airports in Afghanistan from NATO control to local control.
His multi-discipline background affords a high level of efficiency in any planning environment, from infrastructure to environmental, or 1391 programming documents to vision charrettes.
Bauer is a graduate of the University of Colorado, with a degree in geography and environmental studies. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the American Institute of Certified Planners. He will be based in the firm’s Colorado Springs office.
