Believing integrated lighting is the key to revealing client aspirations and content-rich architecture, Melanie has worked on a wide variety of projects including airports, five-star hotels, corporate headquarters, mixed-use complexes, and healthcare environments.
She applies her dedication to idea-based graphic design to all project types and sizes. Her extensive experience has taught her that great lighting design will have poetic, experiential and inspirational components while being sustainable and maintainable. She brings her strong lighting-based point of view and collaborative skills to projects with an appreciation for diverse teams, unique design approaches, and innovative solutions.
Melanie has been a lighting design instructor at the Seattle Art Institute. She also co-presented workshops on sustainable LEED lighting and LED light fixtures at Lightfair and has been an organizing committee member and judge of the Next Generation Luminaire Competition. She has won many prestigious awards including the IIDA Regional Award of Merit (2008, 2007, and 2004) and the IIDA International Award of Merit for multiple projects.
