An author of numerous published papers and frequent speaker, he has overall responsibility for the delivery of engineering consulting services that covers everything from feasibility assessments and systems master planning, to design, commissioning and operational performance verification.
In addition to consulting engineering he formerly was a building Senior Research Scientist for Pacific Northwest National Laboratories and Director of Technology and Analytic Services for Honeywell’s Building Information Services business. Tom has served on the technical committee responsible for development of the first ANSI-accredited Green Building standard. He has been a past Board member of the Cascadia Green Building Council and ILFI. He currently sits on the Technical Advisory Group for the Seattle Living Building Pilot Program and the AIA Seattle Board of Directors. Tom has served as moderator, presenter and content developer for the AIA+2030 Professional Series and AIA Getting to Zero Professional Series and sits on the Strategic Advisory Council for AIA Seattle.
Tom has a diverse technical background that underpins his current mechanical sustainable design focus and helps foster the integrative thinking such work demands. His sustainable expertise is representative of a highly accomplished career, including positions at Honeywell and Pacific Northwest National Laboratories prior to joining WSP.
