Freedom Park - Pretoria

Freedom Park is a heritage precinct nestled on the Salvokop on the southern edge of Pretoria and is one of many historical attractions in Gauteng. It is a site of remembrance, where South Africa honours those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for a free and democratic South Africa.

Freedom Park is a site of remembrance where South Africa honours those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for a free and democratic South Africa. If is filled with symbolic monuments and landscaped gardens that represent the heroes of South Africa’s past struggles. No remains are kept at the Park.

The most striking feature is the 697 metre long Wall of Names. The names of 75 000 South Africans who lost their lives in the fight for freedom have been inscribed on the wall.

The memorial site and museum complex developed for Freedom Park Trust and the Department of Arts & Culture, located in Salvokop, Pretoria. The site comprises of three main buildings (Moshate, Sanctuary & Indoor Space for Leaders) as well as a commemorative wall of names that displays up to 120,000 names in recognition of fallen freedom fighters throughout various liberation struggles in South African history.

Our services

We were responsible for the Electrical and Electronic installation consisting of LV power, lightning protection, specialist lighting, IT infrastructure, Telephone PABX, Public Address & Evacuation System as well as a fully integrated Fire Detection, Biometric Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Detection.
