President and CEO Australia and New Zealand, Guy Templeton, said Ms Fitzgerald is the ‘go-to’ sustainability consultant for many architects, developers and organisations.
‘This award recognises Bernadette’s dedication to quality technical advice, innovative practices and to exceeding every client brief.
‘Bernadette is an integral part of our sustainability team, she has worked as the sustainability lead on landmark projects – like 699 Bourke Street – and she is heavily invested in the community.
‘She has had a particular passion for improving the performance of existing buildings, working on retrofit and building tuning programs for sites such as 500 Bourke Street and 246 Bourke Street.
‘Both these buildings have improved their operational NABERS energy ratings from 0 star to 4.5 star.
‘Bernadette quickly understands the drivers and limitations of a project and she uses this knowledge to maximise environmentally sustainable outcomes for the client and the community,’ Mr Templeton said.
