The High Commendation for Roy Hill was received in the Collaboration category and is a testament to the partnership approach that was embraced in the delivery of the project.
WSP Project Director, Samuel Bennett said, ‘As the Project Management Contractor for the $10 billion project, we are proud of the results we delivered for the client and of the continued industry support and recognition. This project showcased our global project management expertise.’
We also celebrate the success of our role on the $340 million NSRU project with another High Commendation for Design Innovation.
The NSRU design was undertaken by the Jacobs WSP joint venture with support from Mott Macdonald. The design team was part of the NSRU Alliance comprising Transport for NSW, Bouygues Travaux Publics and John Holland. The NSRU was officially opened in June 2015.
WSP’s General Manager for Rail, Mike Jenkins, congratulated the team on the achievement.
‘The team worked tirelessly to perfect the complex design – it is the first instance in Australia that a tunnel has been constructed using canopy tubing under an operational railway. It is a great honour to have this innovation recognised by the industry.’
A further congratulations is also extended to all our staff involved in the Perth Airport and The Steps projects who were Finalists in the Client Service and Engagement categories respectively.
Congratulations to Kirsten Ruckert who was a Finalist in the Champion of Change – Female Leadership category.
