ZJP now has the right to bid as one of a panel of two for Design and Construct packages involving larger diameter pipelines (pressure and deep gravity sewer), pump stations, reservoir and some treatment plant upgrades.
This success builds on the collaborative approach taken with the client when delivering the Peninsula ECO project for SEW since November 2013.
WSP’s General Manager for Water, Dean Toomey is looking forward to working with Zinfra and Jaydo.
Mr Toomey said, ‘The consortium gives us an opportunity to provide more services to SEW and that’s important to our business and more importantly to the surrounding Victorian communities that will benefit from the outcomes delivered by SEW.’
The two-year contract (with two x one-year extensions) started on 5 October this year and gives the consortium access to individual projects valued from $500k to $10M. South East Water's region covers inner south east Melbourne suburbs, the south east growth corridor beyond Dandenong, and the length of the Mornington Peninsula.
Two projects have already been awarded under the panel - CREPS (Cardinia Regional Employment Precinct) Sewer Pump Station and Rising Main, and the Boneo Sewer Treatment Plant Upgrade. The Boneo upgrade is an interim requirement for the refurbishment of a clarifier and upgrade to the aerobic sludge digestion which interfaces with the existing electrical and SCADA systems.
Both projects commenced design at the start of November 2016 with completion due in late 2017.
