Katie joined our Sydney team as a Graduate Engineer in 2011. ‘At university I always enjoyed the water subjects more, and so for that reason I got into that field of work’ she says.
‘Since joining, I’ve had some amazing experiences. Working as a hydrologist to develop the Ethiopia Master Plan Study for the World Bank was a true highlight. I’m also very proud to be a chartered engineer.’
Katie values the investment of the business in her development, as well as her supportive team, and notes these as contributing factors for her success, ‘I’ve always had a terrific team around me whose impact cannot be underestimated in my own development.’
Katie continues ‘My trip around the world in 2014 was a wonderful experience. Taking six months unpaid leave, I’m much more insightful for having seen many different places and met people from all different cultures, including a once in a life time opportunity to meet my Kenyan sponsor child, Kiranti.’
Moving forward in her career Katie has recently been promoted to Senior Engineer and desires to develop her skills in leadership.
More significant perhaps is what the next few months and years will bring for Katie. Going on maternity leave around Easter this year she is due to give birth to her first child, a baby boy.
We wish Katie the best of luck in what is an exciting time for her and her growing family.
